Occupational Therapy Services

An occupational therapist supports a child’s independence and ability to manage daily life.

A child’s independence develops through everyday activities — dressing, eating, playing, and learning all require different skills working together. An occupational therapist helps identify a child’s strengths and the areas where they need extra support, and selects activities and exercises suited to the child.

An occupational therapist can help if a child has difficulty:
– Planning and completing tasks
– Acting independently in new situations
– Managing daily tasks (e.g., dressing, eating)
– Using fine motor skills (e.g., writing, cutting)
– Processing sensory information
– Maintaining attention and focus

Our Occupational Therapists

Kadri Papp

Kadri graduated in occupational therapy in 2018 and has furthered her training in Finland in neuropsychiatric training and MNRI reflex integration. Alongside her work as a therapist, she also lectures in the occupational therapy program. She has worked as an occupational therapist at AVE Center since 2018.

“My goal is to support clients’ development and functional abilities, so that a child or young person can take part in and enjoy everyday life. I also see counseling parents as important, since working together makes it easier to reach the goals we’re aiming for.”

Jekaterina Mordvinova

Jekaterina worked for a long time as a preschool teacher before earning her qualification in occupational therapy at Tallinn Health Care College. She works as an occupational therapist at AVE Center and at the inpatient psychiatric clinic of the North Estonia Medical Centre (PERH).

“When working with children, I believe individual approach and playfulness are the most important things, as they help support a child’s well-rounded development.”

Eliise Antsmäe

Eliise earned her qualification in occupational therapy at Tallinn Health Care College. She values continuous self-development, believing that new knowledge helps provide children and families with the best possible support.

“When working with children, I believe the most important thing is creating a warm, safe environment, since that’s where children feel free to try, grow, and gain new skills. I really value supportive colleagues and good teamwork, which create an environment where every child and family feels cared for.”

Triin Trepp
