Psychology Services

A psychologist supports the mental and emotional wellbeing of the child and family.

A child’s development doesn’t happen in isolation — their behavior, feelings, and coping are closely tied to their family and environment. A psychologist helps identify a child’s strengths and the areas where they need extra support, and advises families on handling everyday challenges.

A psychologist can help if a child has difficulty:
– Maintaining confidence and self-esteem
– Regulating their feelings and behavior
– Concentrating and calming down
– Interacting with peers or family members
– Adapting to changes or new situations
– Coping with anxiety or fears

Our Psychologists

Pille Kivinurm

Pille has worked as a child psychologist for 25 years, more than 20 of them at AVE Keskus, where she also heads the center’s work. She holds master’s degrees in both chemistry and psychology, and has continuously furthered her training in various therapies, including neuropsychological methods — among them at the Svetlana Masgutova Institute, and holds an INPP method license from the United Kingdom.

“Every small achievement a child makes brings me great joy and satisfaction, because I get to be part of their development. I believe the most effective growth happens through collaboration with families and other specialists, to help children and families reach their shared goals.”

Rail Fetkulin

Rail has worked as a psychologist at AVE Keskus for 24 years and holds a master’s degree in psychology. She works mainly with Russian-speaking children, helping those who have difficulty coping with their feelings and emotions, communicating, or with their behavior.

“I work with Russian-speaking children who have difficulty coping with their feelings and emotions, as well as children who have difficulty communicating or with their behavior.”
